Topic: Suicidepally - Pally Tank

1. State your character's Name, Race, Class, and Role.
Suicidepally, draenei, paladin, tank

2. What are your goals?  Why do you want to join SPG, and what specifically are your plans for your raiding future?
My goals are to tank end game content and progress in the game with a group of people who are willing to continue improving their skills in order to down new content; I want to raid with a group who will pay attention to the big picture instead of centering on their own DPSgasmic pleasures and will do what is required in order to down the content.   I want to join SPG because the guild has a reputation of progression and I feel like I may be able to accomplish my WotLK goals here.
My plans for my raiding future can be summarized with one word: progression.  I want to continue raiding with a good group until blizzard kills war craft, and continue tanking until the last expansion is beat.  I also want to be raiding for achievements and hard modes because I want the extra challenge in the ever-more-casual war craft.

3. Please list all previous guilds/servers and your reason(s) for leaving each.
Authentic, Ysera – School interfered with the raid times; there was an unfavorable change to one of the seminars which I attend, so I had to take another time in the week which interfered with two of Authentic’s raid days.
Addiction, Ysera – There was drama in there and the members were not at the point they should have been, even for reg. TOC 25, so I said fuck it, and we rebuilt authentic.
Old Authentic, Ysera – Crap happened within the officers in Authentic, some people where poached, others were fascinated by faction change, and the guild began to lose members.  The guild broke up when the GM Lancerlot decided to quit and transferred his toon.
Other guilds in BC, Ysera – I started raiding mid-late BC, and as a new raider I ended up in inexperienced or low raiding guilds which tended to have drama or whatnot, which was the reason I left some of them, others broke up with the announcement of the expansion.

4. What is your endgame raiding experience?
Icecrown Citadel, I have main tanked 7/12 bosses in ICC 10 and 25; up to Blood Queen, Putricide (downed in 10 man), and Dreamwalker.  I have also achieved the 25 attempt TOGC 10 and 2/5 bosses in TOGC 25, and obtained the Ulduar 10 Protodrake. I have raided all the other content released in Lich King.

5. Are you able to use Ventrilo to communicate during raids--as well as any other addon we require?
I use Ventrilo, as a tank I believe it’s a must have, and if there is an addon which is required to raid I will obtain it.

6. Please post a link to your Armory (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com) profile.

7. What, if any, entertainment value do you offer?
Things that should not be mentioned in polite society....
....and antagonizing missionaries

8. We demand a high level of preparedness from every player who attends a raid.  This includes having full consumables (flasks or elixirs, food, potions) stocked for the entire raid, researching every encounter fully beforehand, and being up to date on theorycrafting relevant to your class/role.  What specifically would you do to prepare yourself before and between raids?
I always keep a stack of tank flasks on me, as well as 100+ armor potions and a few stacks of Angel Fish filets.  I also keep a few taunting glyphs and my usual glyph to swap on fights such as Saurfang.  Every time I am to tank a new encounter I watch videos and read strategies and the boss’ abilities to give me the basic idea of the fight.  Experience then fills the gaps of what I may be lacking.

9. Explain what you perceive your character's role in endgame content to be.  Explain how your current gear, glyph, and talent choices mesh with performing that role, and any ways in which you are still working on improving your character.  For healers, use this section to describe your personal "healing style": which spells you favor, and why.  For DPSers or tanks, lay out the DPS or threat-generation rotations you employ, and explain, in detail, why each ability is used and why it's in that particular order. For example, if your rotation is Dot1-->Dot2-->CastTime Spell, explain why the Dots are put up first; what happens if they aren't? Don't skimp on this answer, show me you know what you're talking about, and that you didn't just regurgitate information from ElitistJerks, etc.
As a tank I am constantly experimenting with choices to improve my survivability and threat.  I favor stamina upgrades because I consider them a greater asset than avoidance, especially in a raid such as ICC where avoidance has been nerfed, though I do take in consideration whether the loss of avoidance would be too great to compensate with the proportion of stamina on my gear. As for threat I favor having pieces of block value on my gear, if I can obtain them, since it provides me with snap agro when using my shield of righteousness.  I also try and keep myself on hit and expertise cap in order to maintain a constant tps, and I try to be aware of strength benefits in gear.
I experiment with my spec and glyphs in order to provide the best performance to my raiding environment, and I favor points which will allow me to cause high tps without suffering survivability.  My current glyphs are Divine Plea which I use for the constant 3% damage reduction, while I keep the glyph of Seal of Vengeance and Judgement for threat. Furthermore, I am flexible with my spec and glyphs and will make adjustments if I notice that the raid would run smoother through them.
When pulling a boss or high HP mob, my tanking rotation begins with my holy shield in order to activate my libram followed by an exorcism which I clip to add a hand of reckoning for a threat boost.  I then follow to use my Avenging Wrath, Avenger’s Shield,  hammer of righteousness, judgment of light/wisdom depending on the fight and other paladin judgments, Shield of righteousness, refresh holy shield, Consecration, Then I continue my rotation from hammer of righteousness with adjustments to priority attacks (Hammer of righteousness, shield of righteousness), defensive moves, and cool downs.  Depending of the fight, defensive cool downs are timed and used with my Avenging wrath in order to achieve greater efficiency.  Once the mob or boss is at execution range I also incorporate hammer of wrath into my rotation.
When tanking AOE mobs I follow the same basic rotation, though I use Consecration before the Hammer of righteousness to gain threat over the group of mobs. In this fight I use other AOE attacks if useable such as holy wrath, and I am always ready to taunt in the case a DPS is doing single target to a mob I am not focusing on.

10. Our raiding schedule is 8:15pm-12:00am EDT (server time, basically), Wednesday, Sunday, and Monday.  Do you have any conflicts with this schedule (i.e., can you be there every night)?
I keep a 100% attendance rate unless the unavoidable occurs, of which I will give notice to whom it would concern.

11. Tell us about yourself.  Include age, gender, profession... but don't stop there.
18 year old male, Mexican mechanical engineering student.  I am currently a fulltime college student with a part-time college store job, and I like gaming and the outdoors, and I keep aquariums to keep me sane during the stressful raid periods.

12.  While we are a casual guild in terms of raid schedule, our members take their raid time very seriously.  As such, occasionally if you make a dumb mistake or screw up something easy, some of our more vocal members (officers and raid leaders included) might say some rather unflattering things about you over vent.  How would you respond to this?
I would recognize my mistake and work on it.  In the case accusations may be wrong or not of my fault I avoid having confrontations in vent to avoid drama, and would try to clarify the issue after raid.

13. What sort of machine/connection do you raid on?  Specific machine specs and connection speed would be nice, but if you don't know them, a general idea of your fps and latency in intensive raid situations will suffice.
•    Window’s Vista, hoping to replace soon with Microsoft 7 soon
•    6 gigs in ram
•    16 mbts Comcast cable connection
•    1.80 GHz processor
•    NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE

14. Please post a screenshot of your UI during an active raid encounter or inside a battleground once it has started. You can use http://www.photobucket.com/ to host your image.

The action bars are a bit messy but I seem to play better with a disorganized action bar :3

15. If you are applying as a dps or a tank, what is the top-end dps/tps for your class and spec on a (non-gimmick) movement-heavy encounter? Low-movement encounter? How far away from this number are you, and why? Post a parsed combat log if available.
High movement – round’ 8.5 - 10k tps
Low movement – round’10 - 13 k tps

16. Is there anything else you feel we should know that is relevant to your application?
I’m open to criticism and suggestions. I’m here to raid and enjoy the game and I like learning and adjusting to it as I progress.  I’m AntiDrama, AntiLootwhore, AntiEmo, and specially Anti Tauren Paladin.
Thank You for Your time and consideration .

Re: Suicidepally - Pally Tank

Suicidepally is one of the best tanks i have ever ran with on this server.  To be honest i think he's cutting himself short on his threat, i've seen him at a consistant 12k+ on multiple ocassions.  This guy knows his stuff and is always willing to help out however he can.  He not only knows his class but also never goes into an encounter blind.  He's one of the most talented people i've had the pleasure of playing with on this server, and i believe he would be a great asset to this and any guild.

Re: Suicidepally - Pally Tank

This is a very strong tank, whom I have raided with for a long time back in Lancerlot's Authentic. My experience with Sui can allow me to safely say that his skill would be a great addition to SPG.

No se pare en el fuego, puto.

Re: Suicidepally - Pally Tank

I have known suicide for over a year and tanked alongside him back in Authentic. I'm honest when I say that when it comes to pure skill as a tank, you will not get much better than this from an app, its a nice bonus that he is a very loyal and cool guy who will jump through hoops to get shit done.

P.S. to sneaky, i'm one of those 4 other tanks right?

This means he sharpens lawn mower blades!

Being Mexican is an insta-accept, btw.

I was going to comment on that but since I'm not Mexican I didn't want to come across as racist to a potential recruit.  But since Proz opened that can of worms err beans I was wondering if it involved a lot of duct tape?

Its mostly sombrero-dynamics and structural bean reflections...
